This is the career I’ve always wanted, and I want to do some good with it.

I’ve decided to sell off some of the names in my book to people willing to donate to a charity of my choice. These are characters who are what I refer to as innocent bystanders – small roles, not baddies, will not be killed off, and are not victims. They are characters who are interviewed for information, for example. The character will not resemble you at all – they are already written. They would just have your name.

Anyone who takes part, will be mentioned in the acknowledgements as a thanks for their contribution to the charity. All of the money donated will go directly to the charity, and I’m setting a minimum fee of £50 for this. There is no maximum, so please be generous. In case too many people come forward, I will take the highest bidders – this is for charity after all.

The chosen charity is Tall Ships. It teaches children, most of who are from disadvantaged backgrounds and a mix of ages, to manage and run a sailboat. No matter what these kids are told, they come to realise they are strong and capable and worthy. This is an experience they will carry with them for the rest of their lives and through hard times.
